“Optimism
is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and
confidence.”
Helen
Keller
Do you recall the discussion regarding those
pessimistic people? Today we look at people such as ourselves – the optimists… In
the same manner that pessimism is a sure path to failure and weakness, so does optimism
lead to power! Throughout the past 127 blog post, I keep reiterating the point
of being positive, to strive towards that which is good, and to embrace the valuable
things in life. I do this because I am an optimist, and I believe that people
such as yourself, reading here, do that because you are also optimistic about
creating a better you, and consequently, a better world. Dietrich Bonhoeffer
says that the essence of optimism is that it takes no account of the present,
but it is a source of inspiration, of vitality and hope where others have
resigned; it enables a person to hold his/her head up high, to claim the future
for him-/herself and not to abandon it to his/her enemy. Sammy Nickalls says
that being optimistic have a few benefits. At first, it keeps anxiety and stress
at bay (optimism significantly lower stress and keep your blood pressure down);
it makes your life literally less painful; it helps you to take care of
yourself (optimistic people live healthier lifestyles), and it also helps you
to improve your performance. Just imagine your performance in anything if you
are as negative as an anion (a negatively charged ion, for those who failed
science)? No thank you, so let us never stop batting for the optimism team.
Thank you for being an optimist.
To be happy in life,
involves a secret trick.
It involves always being optimistic.
Just imagine pessimism being at the order of the day!
It involves always being optimistic.
Just imagine pessimism being at the order of the day!
Do you think that
would, in any way, be okay?

“Optimisme

Verbeel jouself net hoe ongemotiveerd jy
jou take sou verrig het as jy so negatief soos ‘n anioon (‘n negatief gelaaide ioon,
vir julle wie wetenskap gedruip het) was? Nee dankie, so laat ons asseblief
is.
Geluk kan oor jou spoel,
soos ‘n tsunamie-golf.
Dit gaan egter verg dat
jy vir die optimiste kolf…
As jy wil kolf vir die
beste span…
Maak dan net jou
keuse, komaan!
