“We should be taught not to wait for
inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration
seldom generates action.”
Frank Tibolt (Author)
What inspires you in life? Are you a
person that is self-inspired, or do you rely on others to inspire you? I
believe that inspiration should predominantly come from inside of us, NOT from
an external source. The worth of a kind deed lies in the love that inspires it,
and where does love come from? From inside.
Karen
Ravn (author) says that you can grow only as high as you can reach, go only as
far as you can seek, look only as deep as you can see, and be only as much as you
can dream to be. All of these comes from within, and extends outwards, not from
without, coming inwards. There are many who is of the opinion that dreams are
merely a way for someone to escapes reality, but the British author, Nick
Thornely, argues that dreams can be the most powerful motivators of all. I have
to add, and this should be very clear, that such dreams without actions will be
a mere platform for escapism. As the proverb goes: Ninety percent of inspiration is
perspiration. Yes, it is true, dreams do precede our goals most of the
times but they must be accompanied by deeds. Nothing has ever been built on
dreams, but it was, indeed, inspired by it!
So, let
us get back to the initial question of the day: Are you an inspired person, and
if so, what (or who) is the source of your inspiration? I hope the answers to
these are: YES (and) MYSELF.
If,
however, the answers are NO (and) I DON’T KNOW, then start somewhere and become
inspired. Even though inspiration should spring from within, many find their
inspiration elsewhere, such as by going for walks in nature, through meditation
or observing others. Attempting something new or compiling a bucket list may
also be a great source of inspiration. The final thought, it is only YOU who will
know best where you may draw your inspiration from. The most important, however,
is that you always strive to be inspired as well as an inspiring individual.
Where should inspiration come from, I ask?
Is
seeking inspiration such a laborious task?
First, look inside you, inspiration must be there,
only then go look for inspiration elsewhere…
